Safety tips and advice
1. Be Smart
Unfortunately we live in a world in which some individuals do not have the best intentions. Before agreeing to meet up with someone that you’ve matched with, make sure that they are who they say they are, and that they are not acting suspicious in any way. If you come to find that someone is acting in a way that doesn’t feel right, then please report them through the app or our website and providing us a little feedback on why you are reporting them. Together, we can work towards helping make the Trailr community as safe as possible for everyone.
2. Know Where You’re Meeting
If you agree to meet with someone, make sure that you have the correct address and that you look that address up to make sure that it’s where the other person says it is. It’s also wise to meet in a public place and even tell a family member or friend where you are going so that they are aware.
3. Sharing of Personal Information
Make sure you don’t give out your personal information to just anyone before knowing who they are. It’s much easier to connect with someone through social media platforms instead of giving someone your number right away because that decreases the chances of you getting spammed by people with bad intentions or people who just can’t seem to get the message. Blocking someone on a social media platform is much less of a hassle compared to needing to change your phone number.
